I produced work for Websense as an “Interactive Media Designer” in Q2/3—2010. I was responsible for conception, producing and animating jobs raging from new social media networks to product industrial videos. Although I held the title of designer I was in reality a full fledged Art Director running multiple campaigns and producing a wide range of work for print, motion and interactive mediums. The following is a sampling of the jobs I have directed and produced for Websense.
Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN), a global leader in unified Web, data, and email content security, delivers the best security for modern threats at the lowest total cost of ownership to tens of thousands of enterprise, mid-market, and small organizations around the world.
I art directed the 2010 Threat Report. This document strives to produce a comprehensive understanding of where threats are coming from, who is producing them and what business can expect going forward. The project contained interactive, print and video elements.
TRITON Advisory Board introductory video
This project was a motion graphic video produced to promote a forthcoming social network—that I was also designing—called the Websense TRITON Advisory Board. I produced the script, hired the voice talent presented the storyboards and produced the video in about 5 days.
Starting from the first day working with Websense I was in development on the TRITON Advisory Board (TAB). TAB was formed to allow customers and Websense employees to communicate on a self-contained social network.
TRITON Advisory Board
TAB Users after logging into their myWebsense account were allowed access not only to the other users of TAB, a social updates section and an internal personal messaging system. TAB users were also encouraged to start conversations in forums where Websense employees and Websense customers can quickly chat about problems or positive experiences.
The TRITON Advisory Board site contained special sections, such as an “Updates”, that allowed the user to access crucial information in a light box without the need to leave the main landing page.

TruWeb DLP product demo
This project was an industrial motion graphic video produced to explain the benefits of TruWeb DLP. After an in-depth discovery session with the product director I not only wrote the script for the project but also created the graphic design and edited the project in three days.
Websense.com motion design
While at Websense I collaborated with the lead UX and Web Designer Tim to explore implementing more modern features into the public facing corporate landing page. As a result of these sessions the team produced an iOS and desktop browser compatible solution for presenting video and interactive content in a top level slider. This video was produced and recorded for US markets, then re-tailored for all other major world Websense channels, meaning all the design had to be very modular so it could be converted for use in different languages.
Websense summit site
The 2011 partner conference / summit are events that Websense brings together global partners and employees for discussions and events surrounding all things Websense and internet security. I produced a multipurpose advertising and marketing campaign to promote the event. I worked closely with the events team to create a high quality flexible website that contained elements of the campaign that was rolled out to all the multinational channels Websense works in.
In addition to art direction for the 2011 partner conference / summit I also designed and developed motion graphics for each event and event website.
Websense top 10 threats
This project was a motion graphic video produced to visualize the top 10 internet threats contained in the Websense Security Labs Future of Internet Security report.
Websense sales posters
I was given the task of creating three large format posters to show the benefits of using Websense products. I created a series of composited photographs, these posters were mainly used as a marketing tool to create a discussion around the brand’s sale points.
